'Diana Field Photography' is a Spotlight approved, award winning, Vogue published and leading headshot photographer covering the Hampshire, Surrey & Berkshire counties with clients securing roles throughout the industry including for Netflix and West End theatre. I have worked with clients at numerous reputable agencies such as Curtis Brown, Williamson & Holmes, AKT Management & Agency 4 Kidz to name a few and I am also the resident headshot photographer for various theatre colleges & agencies. I am also available for personal branding shoots at your work, home or outdoors. I hold an Enhanced DBS for working with children, and am first aid certified and insured. All sessions will take place at my garden studio in Hartley Wintney, Hampshire, just a short drive outside of Guildford. In late 2024 I plan to re-locate my studio to Guildford, Surrey. Booked client's will be notified of any changes should the new location be ready. I love to utilise natural light to get the most natural images during my sessions. My studio incorporates an indoor/outdoor flow and we can also use studio lighting for additional styles. Weather permitting, we can also take headshots outdoors in the garden using 'The Box' for additional looks. 'The Box' is a new invention designed and imported from Los Angeles where I was mentored by celebrity photographer and 'The Box' creator Michael Desmond. I'm really excited to be the first in the UK using 'The Box' to add LA style imagery to my shoots. 'The Box' is fully portable so I can now literally take headshots anywhere! Please enquire about a home visit if this might suit you more. Please feel free to scroll down for rates and FAQ's.

FAQ - Headshots

Where will we shoot?

All actor headshot sessions will take place at my relaxing garden studio. The studio is located in a cute little village called Hartley Wintney which is a 1 hour direct train journey from London Waterloo. The studio is a 20 minute walk from 'Winchfield' train station. Hartley Wintney is a small country village in North Hampshire which borders Berkshire and Surrey so it's very easy to get to by car anywhere south of London. If booking the 'More than Headshots' package, we can split the shoot between my studio and an outdoor location, or shoot at the client's home, workplace or anywhere else they have in mind. Travel is included for up to a 20 mile radius from Hartley Wintney, Hampshire for the 'More than Headshots' package. Additional mileage is 45p per mile.

New from 2022 - I am now able to offer a few home visits per month with my portable studio (weather permitting). A surcharge plus travel fee will apply. Please enquire if this is something that may suit you more.

What is your availability like and how soon should I book?

I have slot's open throughout the week including on weekends so just contact me to find out when we can book a session together. Slots are usually booked up to a month or two in advance, especially on weekends so please get in touch to secure a date that is suitable for you and to find out my availability. Please also take into consideration when booking your slot, that there may be an additional 2-3 weeks of turnaround time before receiving your edited images back if not purchasing the express turnaround option.

Availability is very limited during the winter as I tend to take my work abroad during the colder months and can sometimes be away for long periods between November - May. Days are shorter, colder and the light is dull during the winter in the UK so I would recommend to make your booking during Spring-Autumn for the best possible natural light headshots, and to be sure to not miss out on my availability.

What's your studio like?

My studio is a cute little out building at the end of my garden. I love to use natural light so my studio has an 'indoor/outdoor' flow to it. The doors are always open to allow the natural light to flood in, as well as a constant flow of fresh countryside air. If you've booked your session during the cooler months, a heater will be on hand for chilly days. I would recommend still bringing some warm clothing just in case. Please feel free to scroll down for an image preview of the studio.

How much are extra retouches?

Additional retouched images can be purchased for £25 each. Discounts are available for larger orders. I am unable to release un-edited files.

Please tell me more about the premium upgrade?

The optional upgrade to Premium comes with some great benefits!

If you or your child is new to the industry, or if you generally need help choosing your headshots, this upgrade comes with my full advice service. Choosing your headshots is definitely the hardest and most time consuming part of the process so I'll take the time to sort through and select what I think are the strongest images from your shoot and create a shortlist for you. I'll then cut it down even further and make my recommendations on a potential final selection. I will share all of this with you and you'll have the final say on your chosen images. Hopefully this will cut out some time consuming and potentially overwhelming work to help choose your images faster. You also don't have to go with my choices. You might find you prefer other ones even more but hopefully it will definitely guide you in the right direction if this is fairly new to you.

Also as a thank you for adding this service to your booking, you'll receive an extra re-touch on your package which will be fast tracked, edited and delivered all within 72 hours of your image selection. Please check with me at the time of choosing to make sure I can manage the 72 hour turnaround on one of your images.

A shortlist of the strongest images from your shoot is only included with the Premium upgrade - please contact me to add this to your booking if this is something you will need. Thank you.

Will you still be able to help me choose my images without the premium upgrade?

Absolutely! If you are comfortable cutting down your own images and have come up with your own shortlist of roughly 10-20 images but still need help selecting, I will happily give you my recommendations on your own list.

Some agents are also really helpful with this process and you might not even need my input. If you or your agent would like a shortlist of the strongest images from the shoot to choose from then you will need to purchase the premium upgrade for my full advice service.

Do you offer a loyalty programme?

Yes! Return clients will receive a free re-touched image on top of their package (worth £25) at each visit.

Do you offer a student and under 18's discount?

Yes, please see the starred price * under each package for the discounted rate. The concession rate applies to under 18s, students in training with a Valid ID card and professionals within their first year of graduating.

Do you offer a discount for siblings sharing a session?

I do have alternative sibling headshot packages if you have between 2-4 children all needing headshots in the same session. All sibling packages are listed below the main packages on this page.

How are you keeping Covid-19 safe?

- If you, someone you have been in contact with or someone in your household is feeling unwell with Covid-19 symptoms or otherwise please let me know so we can reschedule. You will not lose your deposit for a last minute reschedule, just let me know.
- Social distancing must be maintained where possible. Please be considerate to passing members of the public if shooting outside.
- I am happy to wear a face mask during your session if you'd prefer.
- Equipment will be sanitised before and after the session. Once I have sanitised the headshot stool for you, I may ask for your help in adjusting the placement as to not cross contaminate between both of us moving it throughout the session. The studio will be deep cleaned between clients.

How will payment work?

A non refundable deposit of £50.00 is required at the time of booking to secure the session and the balance will be due on the day. If the deposit is not paid at the time of booking the slot will be re-opened for other clients. I will manually check your payment and will mark your deposit as paid as soon as I can.

If you decide to re-schedule your booking for another date or time, your deposit will be held and transferred to the new date. (Up to 1 weeks notice required or the deposit will be lost and must be paid again. The late cancellation fee is waivered if you are displaying any Covid symptoms or if you test positive for Covid - you must let me know before your session as to not lose your deposit.) In the event of a missed session (no show) with no prior communication, the deposit will be lost and a new deposit will be required to re-schedule to another day.

In some cases, I take a pause during the winter for temporary work with a cruise line and my availability will change. If this happens, the deposit can be transferred to a date the following year.

If I have to cancel your session and cannot fit you in during the following year your deposit will be refunded.

What does the session fee cover?

The fee covers your physical photo shoot and the number of included digital edited images stated in the package you have chosen. Additional edited images can be purchased for £25 each. Discounts are available for larger orders. I am unable to release un-edited files I'm afraid as they don't reflect a true representation of my work. All images included in your package, or additional purchased images will be edited and provided in high-res without a watermark.

What should I wear? (Adults)

Bring a range of different tops with varying neck lines that you think are suitable for you and your casting type. If you're not sure of your casting type think about five adjectives that would describe you as a person and use those to select character types that you could portray. You can also ask friends and teachers what they think your casting type is. You will also need a shot that shows your own personality so have a good think about the range of clothing you'd like to wear to keep your headshots varied. Wearing 5 tops of the same style in different colours isn't varied so you'll need to change it up between styles. Eg. Strappy tops, long sleeve, V necks, scoop necks, off the shoulder, shirts, jumpers, cardigans, jackets etc. There's nothing wrong with bringing duplicate styles in different colours, just make sure you have a good range to choose from overall. You can also bring a selection of black/grey/denim but also try experimenting with colours to bring out your eyes and compliment the colour of your hair. Think about different jackets (leather/denim etc) that can look quite good as well and definitely have something that shows off your collarbones. Ladies - be sure to wear a strapless tan bra if you have one to make changes simple and to avoid any unwanted lines. If you don't own one have a think about another bra/under top that will hide well with your looks. We can go through the different choices when you arrive to your session and I can help choose the best looks for you. Also, don't forget to iron/steam out any creases! :) If you need some ideas you can always take a look at what past clients have worn in my portfolio. If your wardrobe is looking a little tired or unvaried you can always go shopping a few days before your session, leave the tags in, wear them and return the items after. ;) (Please check the returns policy before doing this!) Please also feel free to bring a few outfits to do some full length photos as well if your session time allows it. (Mini, Classic & Portfolio).

What should I wear? (Children)

Agents always ask for one look that makes your child look as young as possible. To achieve this I highly recommend dungaree's over a t-shirt and hair in bunches or plaits. For boys this can mean a casual plain t-shirt. The above information relating to adults can also translate when preparing your child's outfits but as we might not know your child's casting yet, it's good to be prepared with everything. I like to cover the following looks;
- Neutral (Both: Plain t-shirt, preferably black or grey.)
- Young (Girls: T-Shirt & Dungarees or flowery top. Boys: Striped/Checked T Shirt).
- Period Drama (Girls: Off-White/Cream laced/patterned blouse. Boys: Plain or Smart-Cas Shirt).
- 70's Drama (Think Stranger Things: stripy tee & two tone tee. Girls can add a scrunchy hair tie).
- Sassy/Grown-Up (Both: 1x Denim, Leather, Cardigan to throw over a plain coloured top).
- Soap Opera (Both: Plain hoodie layered over a t-shirt.)
Other items to bring: Complimentary headband, hair ties/scrunchies, hair pins, plain t-shirt to compliment hair and eye colour. NO BIG LOGOS. Please also feel free to bring some outfits/clean shoes to do a full length photo in as well if time allows.

We will usually be able to fit any 4 of the above looks during the Mini package, whereas the Classic package allows time for all of the above. Those that work quickly will be able to fit more than 4 looks during the Mini package but if you're concerned about time I would consider booking the Classic package to be on the safe side.

What should I do about hair and make-up?

ADULTS: Keep make-up as minimal as possible. Try to avoid lipstick and thick liquid eye-liner as it can make your eyes appear smaller. If you have any spots just cover them up with concealer and I will edit them out after. Try to avoid caking on foundation. It's best to turn up with a little make-up on first that you can add to. I would advise against liquid foundation/highlighter unless you are an absolute pro at applying it and that's the look you're going for. What I use personally is a powdered foundation such as The Body Shop 'Face Base.' This can be applied on thick with a damp sponge or it can be used to brush over the face for a light natural dusting (my favourite.) Have a play a few days before your session so you can perfect the look you want so it looks most like you. I can advise whether you need more mascara, etc. Bring all of your daily make-up with you so you can do this. Guys can do this too if they wish! Keep eyebrows well groomed. If you have one, an eyebrow brush is an amazing tool to use and bring with you. After washing your face in the morning let your eyebrows dry in the shape you desire and this will help them keep in place for the day. I can photo shop any strays so don't worry about applying gel or hairspray to your eyebrows. As for hair, again you want to go natural but keep it similar to how you would wear it to an audition and bring grips and hair bands so you can change up the style too. Don't forget to bring a hair brush and any products you might need.

CHILDREN: Keep hair natural and off the face. Bring bobby pins & hair bands to change up hair-styles. Under 16's don't need to wear any make-up unless you think it may help any shiny skin etc. I will have translucent powder to hand if needed.

How should I prepare during the time leading up to my shoot?

For the week running up to the shoot make sure you are getting the right amount of sleep and don't drink heavily! Especially don't turn up hungover. You won't be pleased with how you look on camera. It has happened. Stay hydrated all week if possible! Keep eyebrows well groomed and don't try any new face treatments that your skin isn't used to too close to the day. Avoid fake tan and if you are getting a hair cut, have it done the week before rather than the week of the shoot so it has time to settle. If you have any facial piercings please take them out for your session unless you would prefer to keep them in. Keep your face moisturised running up to the shoot and use a clear lip balm every day and on the day to avoid dry lips. Bring your lip balm with you! :)

What if I am running early or late?

Depending on your time slot I may be with another client or have another client after you so please aim to be on time. If you are late this will eat into your session time. If you are early you are welcome to find a nearby cafe or pub to wait in (if open). Just drop me a text to let me know you have arrived: 07767 753473.

What happens after the session?

Within 24 hours of the session and receipt of the balance, I will eliminate any shots of closed eyes and upload all of the good proofs to an online gallery which is password protected. There you will be able to view all of the unedited images and make your selection. Your gallery will be kept online for 2 years, after which your files will be deleted. You will be notified before this happens in case you'd like to purchase any remaining images. Your images may also be used on my website or social media pages as advertising to help spread the word. Please let me know if you'd prefer your images to be kept between us. Once you have your images you are free to use them for your own purposes. I am on Instagram, Facebook & Twitter so you are welcome to tag me in your uploads as credit is very much appreciated. Please contact me for guidance and terms if a magazine or newspaper approaches you to use the images.

I am very new to all of this, will you help choose my images?

Absolutely! I am always happy to help.

For the full advice service I would recommend upgrading to premium. However if you have created your own shortlist and need my advice between a few images I am more than happy to help you choose.

What is your turnaround time?

Usual turnaround: It can usually take around 14 working days to get your edited images back to you. During extremely busy periods it may sometimes take a little longer and I will notify you at the time of image selection if this will be the case. Please consider the additional turnaround time when choosing a date for your shoot.

Express turnaround: If you need your images urgently there is an optional priority edit fee of £15 per image to speed up turnaround time to 48-72 hours. If you have booked the 'Corporate Express' package the included image will be edited within 48 hours of selection, as well as a second image if purchased.

How much editing do you do?

I take a lot of care in the editing process from the perfect crop right to the tiniest blemish on your skin. Spots will be removed along with stray hairs, dry patches of skin, and much more. If there is anything extra you'd like me to do just let me know and I can see if it is possible, (unless of course it's changing the colour of your eyes or something like that - keep it natural haha!)

Can I edit my own headshots?

As I pride myself on my branding and know exactly how a headshot should look then I do not allow any further editing on headshots once delivered to the client. This includes Instagram filters... ;) I would also recommend to refrain from sharing any unedited headshots in a professional context until you have received your final re-touched images.

This all sounds great! How do I book?

Head over to my booking site where you can select the session type that you are after. This will display my current availability and provide all of the instructions on how to complete your booking; https://dianafieldphotography.pixieset.com/booking/
